Interested in a nanny or caregiver and don't know where to start?
A Nanny is employed by a family in either a live-in or live-out basis.
The function of a nanny is to essentially be responsible for all care of the children
in the home in a largely unsupervised setting. Duties are typically focused on childcare
and any household chores or tasks related to the children.
Caregivers provide assistance to the elderly who because of physical disability,
chronic illness or cognitive impairment are unable to perform certain activities on their own.

Each and every nanny or caregiver who is hired from abroad to participate in Canada's "Live-In Caregiver Program"
must meet the following requirements before initial entry into the country is allowed.
- Completion of the equivalent of a Canadian grade 12 high school education
- Either 6 months of full-time training in a classroom setting or 12 months of full-time paid employment within the previous 3 years in a related field
- Functional ability to speak, read and understand either English or French
- A written employment contract with an eligible Canadian future employer
- Security background clearance
- Medical exam
